Project 2_Tameya Jennings

For this project I decided to choose the song Moment by vierre Cloud. When I heard this song I envisioned this "internet during early 2000s" aesthetic. I also wanted to incorporate this glitchcore idea to it as well. But much to my surprise, my video did not go as I planned.

The first phase of this video was story boarding. Before I hoped onto the idea of just still frames and picture animation, I wanted to do a recorded video. I was going to do a lip synching video shot at multiple angles with different simple scenes all done in the space of my bedroom. But as time went on I realized how big of a challenge that would be with the time crunch I had. so, instead I did a photoshoot with a friend at our apartment.

When doing this photoshoot, I was wanting to get this "sad girl" look or this "I'm so in love it hurts" idea, but what I got was "We don't talk about love" final look. Luckily for me at this time, my sister coincidently gave me her old ring light since she had gotten a new one. So I used it to my advantage to help capture the mood for my photoshoot. However, this didn't go according to plan since the camera I planned on using was no longer available to take the high-quality pictures I wanted for my original video. So I had to improvise.

The next thing I did was take these gritty photos and edited them in procreate. Most of the "editing" I did was very simple, I color dropped the photos with multiple shades of purple, pink, and violet like blues. This way I could get that "hot girl" look in these pictures.

Some of the other photos I edited them to look as if they were being edited on Microsoft  paint. As I continued to edit these photos, I realized the were becoming a mixing bowl of multiple types of styles which was gave me more room to be creative with the video.

As I progressed even further in my project I started getting into the idea of making photo collages. I got this idea from scrolling through Pinterest to find something to help inspire me and much to my satisfaction did! I took pictures and templates from Pinterest to put them in Procreate to edit these photos and create simple animations. like the beginning of my video.

What I think took me the most brain storming was recording the short clipped videos of my moving around. Because I had to shoot multiple time and narrow down which videos I liked most and which parts of them suited the video best.

Finally, we get to part of putting it all together.

This is what took me the longest time to do since I had to be very precise with the timing of the lyrics and the transitions of the entire thing. I was constantly cutting out pieces, replacing them, and there was endless hours of YouTube tutorial videos on "How to do so and so effect"!

Though the project took me a while to finish and it is NOWHERE near perfect. I still enjoyed the process of it all, editing videos is always fun to do and I proud of the final end product of my video.
