In my video, I tried to capture the idea of music creating strong bonds ad communities. I wanted to shoot a video that caught the idea of the guitar bringing people closer together and putting smiles on people's faces. My guitar is one of the most precious things that I own, and sharing it with others around me has helped me find new friends and acquaintances. Music is what unites us as a whole.
In the beginning phases of this video, I originally planned to shoot a video about a picnic and three friends enjoying their youth. But my actors were unfortunately not available to record it. So I decided to do a video about music instead.
At first, it was challenging to understand how to make the story seem natural without me and my actor's actions seeming forced. I caught moments of the two actors playing the guitar before, but the scenes felt stiff and too long to keep in the video so I replaced them with funny moments instead.
The recording of the film came easily once we settled into the shot and let ourselves relax. I don't think it would've been the same if I had given the actors a script or lines.
The scene where there was another actor playing my guitar was actually a coincidence! He was curious as to what I was doing and saw my guitar, so he asked if he could play it. I listened to him play and asked if I could record him for the video while I sang along and he agreed!
At that moment I was completely enjoying myself and having a wonderful time with those around me, which made this video feel even more relatable for the audience and enjoyable to make!
