Project 1_Idea Proposal_Matt Gaines

For my project, I've documented the entire process of making macaroni and cheese, but I've sped it up. The idea is that it gives almost another dimension towards what would normally be a very boring process. To me, speeding up the process is almost comical, but it might bring anxiety to the viewer, or maybe relief. Regardless, I plan on adding sounds and maybe music that add to the mood itself, like fast paced music and quick Foley art. I think that the camera angles I have selected for this project also compliment the piece itself, as I chose angles that would help tell the narrative and purposely worked slowly in order to speed it up in post.

I utilized close up angles for the most part in order to tell my narrative because I feel like these kinds of angles seem much more readable and cohesive. I used a low angle, or a "worm's eye" angle when filming the microwave process to make it feel like it takes a bit longer, or that it's almost "menacing" to wait for. "bird's eye" angles were used to make it feel like the viewer was somewhat in control during the process.
