This project is a collection of shots of chapstick. I wanted to explore a variety of angles and compositions, and in order to focus on light and balance over color I decided to shoot in monochrome. The video itself is in grayscale, and this wasn't added in editing. Chapstick is something super mundane and normal, everyone has chapstick. I want to make it look exaggerated and dramatic with my quick scene cuts and editing. As the video progresses, I wanted to experiment with unique transitions, testing the border between the camera and the viewer. There is a clip of me editing and filming the project thrown in the video as well as clips of me creating the title by typing it out letter by letter in the intro. At first look it doesn't seem like a narrative since it is based upon still-life and camera movements but there is a storyline if you read between the lines. 

I used a Canon EOS 5D Mark III camera and shot with a couple different lenses to explore different perspectives more fully.
